Even though we’re living through a global pandemic, people are hungry to connect, and they’re taking to Eventbrite to search for and discover a variety of events each week. We’re always intrigued by what we find. Here’s a look at what consumers across the U.S. searched for on Eventbrite last week (between Sept. 25 – Oct. 2):
Americans tuned in to the Debate
Last week was the first U.S. Presidential Debate and consumers were searching for ways to tune in. San Francisco was the most politically engaged, with 17% of searches looking for a debate watch party, New York trailed slightly behind at 10%.
Halloween searches on the rise
As expected, Halloween was the top searched term last week, with 23% of all searches in the U.S on the Eventbrite platform looking for festive Halloween events. Searches for the holiday are up 35% week over week, and we anticipate that number will only continue to rise over the month of October. Halloween ranked as the top search term across every major city we looked into: Chicago ranks #1 with 37% of searches looking for a Halloween related event, Los Angeles trailed closely at 36%. San Francisco lost its top spot as the Halloween hotspot, and fell to third last week at 34% of searches. Oktoberfest remained in a steady second place in New York, Chicago, and Philadelphia.
Stay tuned for what next week will bring!
