This past fall, we launched the Do Right, Be Brite campaign in Chicago. Like matchmaking for causes, we dreamed of connecting people interested in volunteering with some amazing and worthy organizations in Chicago. These individuals pledged to ‘do right’ and give back to the community in order to make the Windy City a ‘brite’r place in 2012.

On the evening of November 17, 2011, one hundred Chicagoans braved frigid temperatures and gathered at Frontier over tangerine-colored cocktails and duck tacos to sign their lives away (ha!) and promised to make 2012 their year of giving back.

As we are nearing the end of March, we wanted to update you all on what we’ve been up to and what’s on tap for the next few months!

So far, we’ve made paper cranes and played trivia with the kids at the Lydia Home through Chicago Cares Celebration of Service.

We gathered coats, bedding and other cold-weather accoutrements for Porchlight shelter after they experienced a devastating fire.

We completed a 5 mile fun run with visually and/or physically impaired athletes with Running Away Multisport and Dare2Tri.

We have an awesome lineup of causes for the next three months too, and we’re excited to partner up with some amazing organizations who are making Chicago a brite-r place!

If you want to get involved, you can sign up to get our updates here, or if you have an awesome cause that you’d like to spotlight, give us a shout on twitter @BriteChicago!
