Raised in New York City for a few years, she later came with her family to Houston, Texas. Wendy's musical journey began at the age of 12, where she discovered her love for the saxophone and started honing her skills. She further pursued her passion by attending the prestigious High School of the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, solidifying her musical foundation.

Recognizing her exceptional talent, Wendy was granted a full music scholarship at San Jacinto College Central in Pasadena, Texas. During her time there, she became an integral part of one of the country's finest jazz bands, assuming the role of the lead saxophone player. It was during these formative years that Wendy's diverse musical style took shape, drawing inspiration from jazz, Latin, and infusing it with spiritual and personal growth themes.
