Ultra SLO Trail Series is a set of races each with three distance options; 10km, 25km (15.53 miles) trail runs and 50 km ultra marathon (31.07 miles). The races will take place in scenic spots around San Luis Obispo County. The races will be mostly on trail or dirt road on a combination of US Forest Service, private ranch, SLO County and CA State Parks property.

Because they are usually on rugged trail and longer distances, ultra marathon races are generally run at a slower pace than road race events. San Luis Obispo is commonly known as “SLO” by those who know the area. The name “Ultra SLO” is a play on Ultra Marathon, San Luis Obispo (SLO) and SLOwer running.
