South Bay Advisory Council (SBAC) of CPAF
The Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) was founded to help address domestic violence and sexual assault in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities. The South Bay Advisory Council (SBAC) is a volunteer body formed in 2015 and composed of community members who live or work in the South Bay and/or volunteer at the Transitional Shelter.
The SBAC grew out of an initial idea to launch a wellness scholarship program for clients living in CPAF's South Bay Transitional Shelter. In its first year, SBAC developed the wellness scholarship application and award process, and achieved its initial fundraising goals to successfully launch the program. As it evolves, SBAC also intends to support CPAF’s outreach efforts in the South Bay to government agencies, nonprofits and the greater South Bay community.
