Patients Not Prisoners

Lisa T is a "Mom on a Mission," a true hero. Having experienced first hand the complex navigation of the mental health and judicial systems with her three sons

who experience mental illness. Lisa lovingly says that she and her husband hit the "Trifecta." She has seen first hand how jails have become our country's largest provider of mental health care. The incarceration of her son along with the fragmented systems meant to support him has only fuelled her passion to make a difference. She has taken all of her heartache and pain and channeled it into the creation of Patients Not Prisoners - a nonprofit dedicated to providing support and resources to those who are navigating the mental health justice system. Patients Not Prisoners is a beacon of light, providing hope to those who feel lost and alone in their journey.
