NIH MD/PhD Partnership Training Program
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) MD/PhD Partnership Training Program supports the development and future success of career physician-scientists in basic or translational biomedical research. The program fosters innovative and interdisciplinary PhD partnerships in an accelerated setting, where most students complete their degree in about four years, and provides access to unique NIH resources, including the NIH Clinical Research Center and the NIH Graduate Partnerships Program (GPP).
The program affords opportunities to students who have just earned their Bachelor’s degree and are applying to medical school, students who are currently enrolled in medical school, and students who are currently involved in the NIH GPP.
Most students in the MD/PhD Partnership Training Program are also in the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program (OxCam). Much of the information provided here is therefore aimed at students interested in the NIH OxCam Program. Interest in the NIH OxCam Program is not a requirement for acceptance into the NIH MD/PhD Partnership Training Program. If you have questions about other programs in the NIH GPP or an individual partnership agreement, please contact us.
