Maricella Mendez Sherwin, Ph.D.
Maricella Mendez-Sherwin, Ph.D., a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, has worked for over 24 years with children, adolescents and adults. During the last 18 years she has specialized in working with young children and families experiencing trauma. Dr. Mendez-Sherwin is a National Trainer in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) endorsed by the CPP developers at UCSF as well as the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. She has trained over 500 clinicians in CPP since she began training with her mentor, Dr. Patricia Van Horn in 2010. Dr. Mendez-Sherwin is a Graduate Fellow of the Infant-Parent Mental Health Post-Graduate Program through the University of Boston Massachusetts. Dr. Mendez-Sherwin is certified in California as an Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. Dr. Mendez-Sherwin trains caregivers and providers on supporting social emotional development in young children at multiple Los Angeles Regional Center settings.
