Mara June Pfeffer

Mara is a budding birth + death doula who turned towards community death care & grief work after doing end of life care for their father. They reside on ancestral Anikituwagi lands in so called Asheville, North Carolina.

Mara dreams of combining their experience and training to become a radical death studies scholar, an advocate and educator for community death care, home funerals, and green burials, and a facilitator for collective grief and pleasure tending. They want to create spaces of collective support, joy, mourning, and healing, for those grappling with the challenges of birthing, living, and dying in uncertain times.
