Los Angeles Chapter of the USVBA
The Los Angeles chapter of the USVBA is the largest chapter in the country with over 70 Active members and a mailing list of 540 veterans and service disabled veterans. Our mission is to position our community for public sector and government contracts by creating relationships with people who can help our community tell the story. Several of our members have large contracts with utilities, the state, and federal government as a result of regular attendance at chapter meetings. At each chapter meeting, we will typically have 5-7 agency and prime representatives who want to meet you so that when they have a requirement fitting your goods and services, they can help you to be competitive in your response.
But, we are so much more than that. We represent our community with the TBAC (Transportation Business Advisory Council) for METRO who will be spending over 5.7 billion in 2017 and another 8.6 billion in 2018. We also represent the veteran community with SBAC (Small Business Advisory Council) with LAUSD who has another several billion in spend over the next two years. Thirdly, we represent the community with the California High Speed Rail and are working to have some of the CP 2/3 and CP 4 Prime Contractors visit our chapter.
We are so committed to the Veteran community that we also represent veteran businesses in the Los Angeles Veteran Collaborative, a consortium of 300 plus service providers in 8 different areas of need facing veterans: legal, homelessness and housing, career advancement, higher education, faith, behavioral and mental health, women veterans, and families and children. If you have a passion to help veterans in any of these areas, please come and join us and represent our constituency in this collaborative.
We also celebrate our successes with several events during the year that cap off with a Christmas Social at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
