Lori Roggman & Mark Innocenti

Lori Roggman and Mark Innocenti are authors and developers of the book Developmental Parenting, and the measures PICCOLO and HOVRS. They have been involved in home visiting research and consulting for several decades and have worked with many different kinds of home visiting programs serving vulnerable families in the US, Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. They promote family-centered practices and a strengths-based approach to working together with parents as equal partners, aligning with the family's goals and values, and helping parents discover ways to enjoy supporting their child's development during their everyday activities.

We recommend a responsive, collaborative, facilitative coaching approach measured by the Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS) based on parents' strengths in supporting their children's early development, as observed with the Parenting Interactions with Children Checklist of Observations Linked to Outcomes (PICCOLO).
