Inter-Tribal Council of CA, Inc.
The Inter-Tribal Council of California, Inc. (ITCC) is a statewide association of over 35 federally recognized tribes and Tribal organizations. This non-profit 501(c)3 organization was formed in 1968 to enhance the education, health, economic, cultural, and social status of all Native Americans in California. ITCC advocates and implements policies, programs and projects to strengthen sovereignty and improve the health and well-being of our tribal communities.
In an effort to reduce violence in tribal communities, ITCC administers the Family Violence Prevention & Services Program (FVP&SP) throughout Northern and Central California. Any person who resides within California and self discloses that either they or their children are of Native American ancestry, whether from a Federally recognized Tribe or not, may be eligible to receive the services. Services may be provided following an individual assessment of the situation, and on a case by case basis. Through Family Violence Prevention Victim Advocates, trained and assisted by ITCC, Native Americans residing in California are provided with emergency services, referrals and workshops for effective education and Intervention on Violence Awareness issues. The ITCC FVP&SP program is the largest consortium of Tribal Government's joined together to put an end to violence in the nation.
