Morven Kitchen Garden Volunteering
Morven Kitchen Garden is a 1.5 acre project in sustainable agriculture. Created and led by UVA students, we experiment growing over 40 different kinds of fruits and vegetables, for sale to UVA Dine, and to our community through a small CSA program. We also donate large quantities of produce for our local food pantries and food banks. It is our goal to grow produce in harmony with nature, and for us that means organic practices, minimal tillage, integrated pest management, and crop rotation. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without the help of our numerous dedicated volunteers, who engage in all types of gardening tasks, from pulling weeds to pruning and hauling in the harvest.
