Concerned R We, Inc

Concerned "R" We, Inc. is a non-profit organization comprising members with a strong desire to help others. This initiative was first demonstrated in 1993 when a mutual friend was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Witnessing the power of caring and working together as a team, we were able to present substantial funds to the friend and their family through out-of-pocket sharing. It was at this time that we decided to organize and help not just one family but others as well.

Since then, the organization has made numerous contributions to other worthy causes and organizations. We have given monetary contributions, clothing, and furniture to many individuals and families experiencing hardships. Each year, our list of recipients grows, reaching out to a variety of causes ranging from disaster victims to community-based programs. We have purchased furniture for the Jay Street Facility for Alzheimer patients. Donations were also made to The United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Eastern Union County YM/YWCA, Project Hope for battered women, University Hospital Boarder Babies, Hale House, the Hillside Food Bank, victims of natural disasters, families who were victims of a fire, and students in need of assistance.

After the passing of our first President, we established the Thomas E. Stewart Scholarship Fund in his memory. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to graduating high school seniors and actively enrolled college students by awarding book scholarships to help them meet and achieve their educational needs.

In March of 2005, the Roselle Branch NAACP honored us with the Unsung Hero & Heroine Award. We were also awarded a Resolution from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Throughout the years, our mission has been to help those in need, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the community.
