Deirdre Foreman, Ph.D., Director, Executive Producer, Actor

Deirdre is a 'Jersey Girl' born and raised on the Jersey Shore. Her background is the perfect combination of the arts and scholarship. She is a published author, educator, and thespian of the arts. She is the President of Center Stage Productions, LLC an independent theater and event production company that specializes in Monologue and Spoken Word productions. She produces live Monologues and Spoken Word for the professional and non-professional stage; Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, Dinner Theater, and private and corporate venues. She is always searching for new talent! She is the Executive Producer and Director of The Vagina Monologues at The Brick House in Wycoff, New Jersey Saturday, February 17, 2024, The JAubrey Theater Festival at the Strand Theater Oak Bluffs MA August 12th, 4-6:00 PM and The Legacy Breakfast Club at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, Vineyard Haven, MA Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 9:30-1:30 pm.

Her experience in the arts spans over 25 years. She was formally trained in acting and poetry writing in college. Through the years she has written, directed, and performed in Off-Broadway and Main Stage, One-act plays, and Spoken Word productions. Her credits include, “Mad Forest” written by Caryl Churchill directed by Maria Vail, “The Vagina Monologues” by Eve Ensler Martha's Vineyard at the Mariposa Museum, “A Lesson Before Dying” by Romulus Linney's theatrical adaptation of Ernest J. Gaines' Pulitzer Prize-nominated novel, “Some Sweet Day” the musical by Mac Pirkle and Don Jones, music by Si Kahn, “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf” written by Ntozake Shange directed by Terra Vendergaw and “Til’ Death Do Us Part” written by Dr. Daniel Jean performed Off Broadway at the Dorothy Streisin Theatre NYC as part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival and other stage readings and independent film projects. She is a member of Backstage and Actors Access and has plans to audition for the Actors Studio NYC.

Her passion for theater is complemented by a gratifying career in higher education. She earned a Ph.D. from Rutgers University, a Master of Arts degree from New York University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State University. Teaching and research are the core of her educational career. She is an adjunct professor of Africana Studies and Social Science and a college administrator. She was a visiting lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. Her research in West Africa, Spain, Portugal, England, the Dominican Republic, and France has broadened her worldview which she applies to her performances. She plans to pursue membership in the prestigious Actors Studio in New York City.
