California Labradors, Retrievers and More
Labs and More Rescue, a non-profit organization, founded in 2011 in San Diego County, with a purpose of making a difference in the lives of homeless and suffering dogs. Since then, approximately 1,800 dogs each year are rescued, representing over 13,000 dogs saved over the past decade. It is the goal of Labs and More to place these dogs in homes that will care for and nourish them for years to come.
Labs and More, which operates without any government funding, is one of the only rescue organizations that takes in dogs with severe medical conditions, relying solely on donations and gifts from private individuals and foundations. Formed by nine, dog-loving individuals, Labs and More is committed to saving dogs of all kinds and all breeds, including dogs that are pregnant, giving them the gift of life.
An objective of the Labs and More team is to bring a brighter future to dogs that might otherwise have little chance of survival. (Please see APPENDIX B for our Mission Statement.) The most significant issue these dogs face is the concern that all rescue operations must address--the ability to ensure that these dogs promptly receive critical medical attention, with comfort and love. We lose precious minutes in trying to provide medical attention within our budget means. Yet once these dogs are on the mend, our team of volunteers provide loving, recovery support, helping Labs and More rehabilitate these dogs.
