Breakthrough Kent Denver
The mission of Breakthrough Kent Denver is two-fold: first, to increase the educational and social opportunities of motivated, under-resourced, urban, middle school students, through a quality year-round program; and second, to motivate and train talented high school and college students for careers in education. Breakthrough Kent Denver is a place where students and teachers can be their best, do their best, and achieve their best. We are a tuition free, educational, non-profit program working in conjunction with Denver Public Schools, Kent Denver School and Manual High School. We strive to provide additional educational opportunities to under-resourced urban middle school students. Since 1995, we have served over 840 students and 415 young teachers from Denver. We provide a rigorous, academic and social environment in which Denver Public School students have the opportunity to learn and grow. We take pride in helping students feel successful by overcoming any challenges they may face. “Doing just enough is not enough.” -Bradley Jones, 7th Grader at Martin Luther King Middle School.
