My Supports

My Supports is a fully registered and audited NDIS Service Provider supporting over 1,600 clients in five states – NSW, VIC, QLD, WA & SA. My Supports is one of the most successful new providers in the NDIS.

My Supports is different to many other providers in 3 ways:

(1) We are a Disabled People Organisation / Families Organisation (DPO/FO) – we bring the lived experience of disability into services:

• NDIA Definition DPO/FOs "Organisations that are led and controlled by people with a disability or their families with a minimum membership of 50% of people with a disability or their families making up the board, staff, volunteers and members.".

• We believe the NDIS marketplace will be more diverse and end-user focused if people with a disability and their families are helping shape services.

• My Supports is co-founder of the DPO/FO NDIS Provider Working Group, a group of like-minded NDIS providers who are working for a greater role of people with a disability and families in shaping NDIS marketplace

(2) We work via small, local Neighbourhood Teams

• Support via local people bringing local connections and contacts

• Flexible, local, your choice of support worker – but with full safeguarding and supervision

(3) Innovation – we are pioneering in-community living options (SIL & ILOs) as an alternative to support in an institutional environment

• NDIS funded person-centred Supported Independent Living (SIL) – group/shared home support options delivered in a person centred way via our Neighbourhood Teams

• NDIS Independent Living Options (ILO) – Host Families, Live In Support Workers, Drop-In Support Workers and Living-Together options

• Support via teams to live in-community for all abilities, especially people with complex and high needs
