Centering pluralism, the Dance Center aims to be a nucleus for innovation and creativity—on stage, in the classroom, and beyond.By partnering with local, national, and international dance artists dedicated to transforming the field, the Dance Presenting Series offers live performances and other shared opportunities for students, faculty, artists, and audiences to connect, witness, research, experiment, practice, imagine, and grow. We cultivate an environment and culture that prioritizes respect for self and others, and advances an anti-racist, equitable, and just society.A team of Dance Center faculty, students, staff and audience members helped refresh the Dance Center’s mission and vision and contributed to the curation of the 50th Anniversary Season including: Bevara Anderson, Celeste Brace, Ellen Chenoweth, Daniel DiLuciano, Jyl Fehrenkamp, Raynner Garcia, Caity Gee, Lisa Gonzales, Joy Holder, Mary Hopkins, Susan Imus, Jane Jerardi, Ambér Johnson, Darrell Jones, Mary McGinley-Gallivan, Pamela McNeil, Kevin Rechner, Kelsa Rieger-Haywood, Roell Schmidt, Meredith Sutton, SJ Swilley and Gabriella Titolo. The 50th Anniversary Season is supported in part by the A. Montgomery Ward Foundation, Alphawood Foundation, City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Illinois Arts Council Agency, National Endowment for the Arts, and The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. Additional support for The Jazz Continuum is provided by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W.
