The Village Project

Adrian Williams, the Director and Founder of the Village Project has a BA Degree in Psychology and a minor in Education from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. She has a vast sales and marketing background, being the first African American & woman in many of her endeavors, i.e., first woman and/or African American to work executive sales and marketing for American Can Co, Parke Davis, Marion Laboratory, Facility Systems and Royal Business Machines. She was the owner of her own Interior Design and Furniture Dealership for five years in Chicago Illinois and a copier sales and repair company for three years. She ran her own catering company, Adrian Williams & Assoc. for 6 years. She was a marketing consultant for Jett Zerographic and Stakehorse Consulting, in addition to running the daily operations of the Village Project. She has brought her more than 30 years of marketing, sales and entrepreneurial expertise to the table, helping to market and promote the arts and four community cultural events. The Village Project also produces community and family events throughout San Francisco such as “Grilling in the Mo” in June at Hamilton Rec, “A Senior Moment, A Senior Prom for the 50+”. For the past 15 years, under Ms. Williams’ directions, the project has produced an annual Kwanzaa Celebration, over 7 days at 18 different venues throughout the city, including our annual event at city Hall on Dec. 26th each year. The organization also produces an annual “Mardi Gras San Francisco Style, Fat Tuesday celebration in the Fillmore neighborhood for the past 14 years.
