Kiwan N. Fitch is the co-founder of My Sistahz Keeper Association (MSKA), a group she formed to help women whose lives are in transition. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from New Jersey City University and she is also a graduate of Seton Hall University’s Non-Profit Leadership Institute and The Rising Tide Capital’s Community Business Academy.  

 Ms. Fitch has worked with a variety of organizations in Social Services for nearly two decades, helping victims of domestic violence; women who have been incarcerated successfully complete their parole, and providing transitional services for women leaving welfare to work. In November 2010 she launched, Kiwan N. Fitch, LLC, a company she created to expand her work with women and families in transition. In 2012, she renamed her company, The EmPOWERment Corp., a name she says best fits her mission.  

A single mother of three sons, Kiwan knows first-hand the difficulties many women face raising their children. An avid writer, Kiwan uses her books to assist women meet the challenges they face from health to finances. Her first book, "Confessions of a Welfare Mom," released in the fall of 2011 was so successful that it led her to write two additional books in the series: "Confessions of a Welfare Mom Volume 2" and "Confessions of a Domestic Violence Survivor". Her books have led to workshops, speaking engagements and a stage play, "Confessions of a Welfare Mom: The Monologues". To date we have produced works audiences in cities such as New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Orangeburg, Charleston, Hopkins, Washington DC, Pawley's Island, and Columbia. This year we are already scheduled to perform in New York, New Jersey, Orlando, Columbia, and Ft. Myers.

A gifted and highly skilled Visionary with over twenty years of experience in Non-Profits organizations, Social Services, Leadership, Business Markets, and Entrepreneurship.

She is the CEO of EmPOWERment Corp., LLC. a company she created to expand her work with women and families in transition. To date, the EmPOWERment Corp LLC has produced 5 books, 6 live stage productions in South Carolina, 2 live productions in New Jersey, Co-produced 2 live productions in Louisiana, and has performed at several local events including the IMARA Woman Magazine Health Tour (2015, 2016, and 2017), The Ms. Born Natural Pageant (2016) and the Big DM's 2015 and 2016 Women’s EmPOWERment event at the Convention Center.

September 2018 Ms. Fitch launched the Journey Towards Purpose Program as a part of the J2P Global Institute LLC. With this platform; personal development courses are offered in a live and online format. J2PGI offers individual and group coaching in the area of Business, Nonprofit organizational leadership, and Business Incorporation. The institute also offers a curriculum-based program to Certify Purpose Coaches. To date, Kiwan has certified over 50 Purpose Coaches in North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and London England.

As purpose would have it; in June of 2019 Kiwan joined the management team at Hannah House, a transitional housing facility for women and children, which is a part of Christ Central Ministries. She now serves as the Director of Transitional Housing Services.

Kiwan has founded and operates two nonprofit organizations: EmPOWERed Connections and Gurls EmPOWERment Network. She also sits on the Advisory Board as Co-Chair for Real Sisters Rising, a for-profit organization that serves women entrepreneurs. Kiwan currently serves as the President of the South Carolina chapter of Real Sisters Rising, a women’s entrepreneurial association. She also sits on the board of directors of two other nonprofit organizations that serve women and families.

Kiwan is the mother of 3 sons, 2 bonus sons, 1 daughter in love, 2 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters. Hailing from Jersey City, NJ Kiwan made Columbia, South Carolina their home in 2010. Kiwan is a South Carolina Notary. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from New Jersey City University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Walden University as well as her Chaplaincy Certification from Christ Central Ministries Institute.
