Stanford Polo Club

Stanford Polo Club

Stanford Polo Club was founded in 1923 by a small core of students passionate about the sport of polo, and their legacy has endured throughout the club's long history.  The Polo Club offers students the opportunity to learn about riding and polo, horse care and barn management, and it helps fulfill Stanford's goal of providing a truly broad education.  Day to day operation of the club is managed entirely by students, and with the help of dedicated volunteer coaches and a visionary advisory board, the Polo Club has continued to grow and develop into a more and more successful organization.  This dedication has been rewarded by several Regional Championships and appearances at the National Intercollegiate Championship, and club members look forward to more victories in the future.  Visit polo.stanford.edu to learn more.

Cal Poly Polo Club

Cal Poly Polo Club was founded in 1977 by several cowboys and cowgirls looking for a new activity to do with their horses.  The club has through the years played on campus in the rodeo arena and dressage arena and even a dirt field.  The club has excelled on the regional scene with players from Argentina and players with polo experience.  In 2002 the club officially became sponsored by the Central Coast Polo Club.  In 2008 the Team was officially recognized by the university and was given IRA status similar to the Rodeo Team.  The team practices several times a week and the Womens Team has been successful at being the Regional Champions six of the last fourteen years, most recently in 2007 and 2009.
