PopUp Theatre
PopUp Theatre...you just never know!
What a difference two years make! In 2015, PopUp Theatre popped up in Fort Collins, presenting Lanford Wilson’s Burn This as its inaugural production. Bringing a fresh, provocative theatrical voice to the community, this unconventional company s new and reinvented works in intimate, out-of-the-box settings. As its namesake might express, PopUp does not have a home, but rather surprises and delights audiences by “popping up” in unexpected places. Through our work we hope to initiate engaging conversations and challenging discourse.
In 2016, PopUp became an official nonprofit organization and produced three Northern Colorado premiers: Cock, Peter/Wendy, and Master Class. Each play was an immersive experience—drawing the audience into the story through intimate staging and unique venues. In 2017, PopUp presented a modern, madcap twist on a classic with Pride@Prejudice, and produced Bright Half Life in one of our most wild settings yet - a local bar! And we aren't done - PopUp's fall show, an artful retelling of On Golden Pond, will be presented from October 7-22. Who knows what next year will bring!
We are dedicated to the art of theater; we pose the questions of our day and with each production bring to our audiences new, different and exciting experiences. We are pleased to be sharing the stage with you and hope you explore with us all that theater can be.
