We envision a self-reliant regional food system where as much food as possible to meet the diverse food needs of our community is produced, processed, distributed and purchased within the region. By operating at multiple scales and levels, we aspire to achieve resilience, reduce dependency on imports, and generate substantial economic and social benefits for Black farmers and the communities they serve.
Our mission is to strengthen the local and regional food system to achieve food and nutrition security and enhance food sovereignty in Black communities. We are dedicated to improving the availability, diversity and accessibility of locally grown and produced food by Black farmers for underserved communities and socially conscious consumers by reconnecting Black people to land and rebuilding the connection between Black Farmers and their communities.
