Description
The Women of Faith Leaders Symposium is an invitation to Women of Faith Leaders from diverse ethnicities, religious beliefs, and generations to join us in a movement for peace and civility. Participants leave the symposium with a toolkit and an action plan to spread the peace in their community.
In today's culture, we have witnessed an increase in hostility, racial, gender, and religious bigotry, and the lack of civility. In some instances, this increase has led to violent outcomes. Based on an episode from "The Red Table Talk" conversation asking why women can't have productive conversations with one another that would promote peace in community and culture created the initiative to engage the Midlands' Faith-based community.
Women of Faith are individuals with firm conviction enabling them to create a safe space for these type of dialogues about differences and leave with a commitment to engage others in peace.
Organized by
Midlands Mediation Center; initiating, facilitating, mediating, and educating for collaborative community relationships to affect positive systemic change in the Midlands. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, MMC uses trained volunteers to provide mediation services on a sliding scale and facilitation, dialogues and training services to individuals and organizations.
