in addition to third thursday after hours on 16 may join us for the new painter talk: alex heilbron hosted by UTD.


alex heilbron’s work addresses how the female body, in its physical, psychological, political, and cultural aspects, is perceived in both public and private spaces. heilbron received her bachelor of fine arts in 2009 from the san francisco art institute, studied at the kunstakademie düsseldorf from 2014-2017 and earned her master of fine arts at the university of california, los angeles in 2020. she has exhibited both nationally and internationally. recent solo exhibitions include apophenic at meliksetian briggs, dallas, texas and high shame at hiestand galleries, miami university, oxford, oh. group shows over the past few years include exhibitions at santa barbara museum of art, santa barbara, ca wolford house, los angeles, ca, the modern, fort worth, tx, laxart, los angeles, ca and moscow museum of modern art, moscow. she has received numerous awards including the william and dorothy yeck purchase award, the helen frankenthaler scholarship in 2019 - 2020 and a pollock-krasner grant for 2023-24. heilbron lives and works in los angeles.


third thursdays represent our commitment to accessibility, ensuring that those unable to visit during regular hours can still experience our exhibitions. by opening our doors on these designated days, we provide an opportunity for broader public engagement, especially for individuals who may have conflicting schedules or reside outside the area. it's our way of extending a warm welcome to everyone, regardless of their constraints, fostering greater inclusivity and community connection.
