Join SheJumps & Black Hills Parks & Forests Association for a series of “Getting Started Workshops” at Lost Cabin Brewery in Hill City on the first Sunday of the month from February to May!

New to the area? Want to try a new outdoor activity? Not sure what gear you need or where to go? These workshops are for you!

These workshops will cover gear, safety tips, where to go, and advice from the instructors on what they wish they knew when they were getting started!

March 3: Backpacking
April 14 : Backpacking Part 2 (Deeper dive into where to go and safety) ***Note date change due to weather
May 5: Climbing

*Please note: the event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. We will let you know as late as the night before if we need to cancel due to weather conditions.

Timeline: Lost Cabin opens at noon. Workshops will take place from 1-2 pm MT.

What to bring: Yourself, curiosity, enthusiasm, and a friend!

Who can come?
We welcome all women and girls—transgender and cisgender, as well as non-binary people. Getting Started Workshops are great for beginners!

What to expect: We will have a quiet corner of the brewery to learn and discuss. The presenters may use a PowerPoint and will bring props. These workshops will be laid back and informal. We encourage you to grab a drink or a snack from the food truck!

Parking and getting to the event: Parking spots are available on the street near the brewery. There is no fee to park. While there are no public transportation options, we encourage you to invite a friend and carpool if you can!

Admission: Free! Limited spots are available please register ahead!

Can you offer accommodations?: If you need to request any accommodation(s) for the program, please do so at checkout. We will do our best to accommodate the needs of all of our participants so everyone can enjoy the program with us

Amenities: Gendered bathrooms are available at the brewery. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages are available for purchase. Potential food truck available.

To prioritize the health of our community, please do not attend a SheJumps event if you are experiencing any cold-like symptoms.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the event date will receive a 100% refund on the ticket price. Optional donations made during registration will not be refunded.

Cancellations made within 3-6 days in advance of the event date will receive a 50% refund. Optional donations made during registration will not be refunded.

No refunds will be given for cancellations within 48 hours of the event, as this does not give us adequate time to fill the spot.
