Training Objectives:

  1. To understand the importance of good observation skills and know how to foster these in youth.
  2. To introduce and explore SET/STEM Abilities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
  3. To identity ways to incorporate appropriate teaching and learning opportunities in afterschool settings that develop SET/STEM Abilities.

Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training. If you have questions or concerns, or need additional information about this process, feel free to contact the Professional Development Training Coordinator at 702-825-8978

The Children’s Cabinet must follow Nevada Registry training guidelines in issuing credit for our webinar training’s. The Nevada Registry states,  “To receive credit for attending a training, it is imperative that attendees be present at the training for the entire scheduled time frame. If the accumulated time out of class (including late arrivals, extended breaks and early departures) extends beyond 15 minutes total, then no class credit should be granted. (Approval codes are specific to the number of hours approved and cannot be adjusted for partial attendance).” Additionally, so we can account for each participant, all attendees must register and attend under their own name.

For questions about online classes or registration, please email Liz Roldan at eroldan@childrenscabinet.org (Northern Nevada) or Tiffany Durazo at tdurazo@childrenscabinet.org (Southern Nevada)
