About this event

This Pride Outside Weekend Campout is for Black, Latinx, and Indigenous Women of Color and allies. It's a chance to escape the city, embrace nature, and create lasting memories with a safe, inclusive, and empowering group.

The weekend will offer plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind, but you can also expect team-building activities, workshops, delicious food, sisterhood, and campfires under the open sky.

Whether you're a seasoned camper or a curious newcomer, you're welcome! We'll have everything you need for a fun and relaxing weekend getaway.

THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE IN BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ. FOR SAFETY REASONS, THE FINAL EVENT LOCATION WILL BE PROVIDED TO REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS ONLY.

Please note that this is ONLY a sample menu and that the final meal selections are subject to change. All meat products used for group meals are chicken or turkey. Additionally, seafood may be included in some meals - if you have a seafood allergy, please notify our team in advance so alternative options can be considered.

Please note that this is ONLY a sample itinerary and that the final weekend activities are subject to change based on weather, available campground amenities, or the energy of the group (sometimes, the group's vibe is very chill and we honor that by keeping the group activities minimal.)

Are there refunds? How do transfers work?

We decided to write this as an aside to ensure everyone can view it. As a reminder, there are no refunds for camping tickets; however, original tickets are transferable to other people or future Camping Noire events if you choose to keep them for yourself.

PLEASE KEEP THE FOLLOWING IN MIND BEFORE COMPLETING A TRANSFER REQUEST:

  • Transfers and name changes are $25 per transfer.
  • If you purchase/sell a ticket, it’s your responsibility to make sure the $25 fee has been paid, and the ticket is actually transferable.
  • If you originally bought a transferred ticket, special promo ticket, or won a free ticket, it is non-refundable or transferable to another event or person.

You have up to 72 hours after the event date to initiate a transfer request. To begin the transfer process, click HERE.

SOME ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU SHOULD KNOW:

  1. THE LOCATION OF THIS EVENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. For safety reasons, we are constantly monitoring updates on campgrounds. Based on the information received, the final camping location MAY change. When this happens, we make every effort to reserve a backup campground within a 30-minute drive from the original location.
  2. (!!) ALTERNATE PAYMENT OPTIONS. To bypass the Eventbrite fees, complete the event registration form here on Eventbrite, enter "3RDPARTYPAYEE" as the promo code during checkout, and submit. From there, proceed to CashApp to complete the payment ($CampingNoire). We will not follow up for incomplete payments, and final hike details will not be provided to unregistered hike participants, so don't hesitate to confirm receipt.

Organized by

Born from the book Camping Noire: the Black Girls Guide to Surviving a Weekend Unplugged, Camping Noire celebrates and encourages daughters of the Diaspora to join the mission to beautifully integrate the landscape of outdoor recreation while also investing in their personal, spiritual, and mental well-being by reconnecting with nature through various other outdoor adventures, including hiking, and -of course - CAMPING! We're not only here to encourage you to TAKE UP SPACE SIS, but our goal is to maximize the representation of black and brown women in natural spaces while also providing a community of sisterhood that promotes safety in outdoor spaces and a reconnection to nature and adventure.

We are the area's ONLY outdoor recreation group in the Northeast Corridor that is created for women of color by a woman of color, and WE'RE HAPPY YOU'RE HERE! This is an OPEN and POSITIVE environment, so whether an expert or beginner camper, bring your whole self (Like seriously, boos -- there is absolutely NO code-switching or Super Woman capes needed here. You can go ahead and leave those home!)! And whether you're tired of lusting over your next adventure, looking to make new girlfriends, are looking to relax, network, or just mingle in the serenity of nature, Camping Noire is the sisterly nature hangout you've been looking for!

Your next adventure awaits, and we'll see you in the woods!!!
