MCAS Practice Workshop for 3rd to 8th grade students. Private School students are welcome.

Please have your child bring their own tablet/laptop if they have one.

This is an In-Person practice workshop at Mathnasium Wellesley location. This event is offered on 2 Saturdays: April 27 and May 4th. Choose a one hour time slot between 3 pm and 6 pm on any of those 3 dates.

Math is fun at Mathnasium.

So is MCAS Math practice prep. We got snacks, smiles, lots of encouragement. The best way to prepare for a standardized test, is to do past year's test questions. Bring your own tablet/laptop if you hae one.

What is the cost of this event?

The workshop is FREE to Mathnasium students.

How many visits should I schedule for my student?

There are 5 categories in the MCAS Math Test. Most students need a couple visits to complete all 5 categories.

What does my child need to bring to the workshop?

Please equip your child with a tablet or laptop. We sometimes run out of tablet during peak times. If your child brings their own tablet/laptop, they can start the workout right away without having to wait for an available tablet.

If my student cannot come to the workshop, what other resources are there?

We will be sending Mathnasium parents an email with instructions on how to access MCAS math practice online.

Who can come to this MCAS Practice event?

Any Mathnasium students who normally attend any of these centers: Brookline, Fresh Pond, Needham, Newton, Walpole, Wellesley, and West Newton and their friends.

Is this event offered at other Mathnasium locations or other days of the week?

Yes. This event is also offered SUNDAY mornings at the Mathnasium Newton center at 1349 Centre St.

1. We teach Math and Math only (that’s why we are so good at it). We have a big warning sign in our center that says: WARNING: Your Child could Become CRAZY about Math. We’ve seen it happen many times so we thought we would warn you.

2. We do eyeball-to-eyeball instruction. An individualized curriculum is created for every child to target his specific math skills gaps and to build upon his strengths. Since no 2 children have the same skills gaps and strengths, no 2 children share the same learning curriculum. Call me at (617) 340-3665 to find out how we can give a child individual attention, get dramatic results, EXCEPTION: The Multiplication Hero Workshop is a large group format, and not eyeball-to-eyeball instruction.

3. How do we measure results? We know that you didn’t bring your child to get good grades in our center. You bring your child to get good grades in school. Therefore, we measure our results based on your child’s school grades, test scores, and your child’s confidence and attitude about Math, not just on our center’s pre-post quarterly assessments. To that end, we contact your child’s teacher to get her thoughts and feedback on your child’s learning plan. Example, a teacher contacted us recently because she was starting a new section on fractions and she asked us to help Kayla - one of her students attending our center - to give her extra support so Kayla can get a head start.
