About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

In this two-hour Schema Therapy training, participants are introduced to the fundamental concepts of Schema Therapy. Beginning with an overview of Schema Therapy's history and development, participants will learn about schemas, modes, case conceptualization, assessment tools, and treatment planning.

Assessment tools such as the Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ) and the Schema Mode Inventory (SMI) will be introduced, emphasizing their role in identifying and assessing clients' early maladaptive schemas and schema modes. Additionally, participants will explore how Schema Therapy extends beyond insight alone, delving into its unique emphasis on experiential interventions aimed at restructuring maladaptive schemas and modes.

Through experiential exercises like completing assessment questionnaires and guided imagery, participants will have the opportunity to embody their own schemas and modes, promoting deeper insight and understanding. The training provides a comprehensive introduction to Schema Therapy.

2 CEs are available for NYS LMHCs, LMSWs, LCSWs, LMFTs, LCATs, NYS Licensed Psychologists and NYS Licensed Psychoanalysts upon completion of training.
