Texas License to Carry a Handgun Class

NOTE: Students must Already know how to shoot a handgun accurately before attending the LTC class.

Attendees MUST Bring the following;

  1. A valid Drivers License
  2. A Handgun of at least a .22 cal
  3. Ammunition-50 rds of NON STEEL ammunition
  4. Eye and Ear Protection
  5. A pen and paper for note taking if desired
  6. Complete a Gritr Range Waiver prior to arriving at class;

  8. Drinks and snacks.
  9. A knowledge of Operating a handgun in a safe manner
  10. Ability to ALREADY shoot a handgun accurately prior to attending the class.
  11. Pay their range Fees of $25.99 plus tax upon arrival at class.


NOTE: THIS IS NOT A LEARN TO SHOOT CLASS !! YOU MUST ALREADY KNOW HOW TO SHOOT A HANDGUN ACCURATELY PRIOR TO ATTENDING.

The Classroom portion consists of;:

4 hours of lecture and testing, the class is presented by an entertaining Power Point and open discussion format.

We cover all laws regarding Texas Open/Concealed Carry, Use of Force and Deadly Force, TMPA, Castle Law, Street Violence and Active Shooters.

The Criminal and Civil Courts systems and how to protect your assets if your involved in a shooting, what to say and what not to say to the police.

Instructors bring Real-life street knowledge that could save your life.

The Range

1 Hour Range Time for qualifying

Eye/ear protection are also provided at no additional charge, or you may bring your own.

A range fee of $25 will be paid directly to the range

You must bring your own handgun .22 caliber or larger and 50 rounds of ammunition


All firing is supervised by the DPS Instructor and an NRA range officer

At completion of the course, testing and handgun qualifications, you will be issued the state-required;

LICENSE TO CARRY A HANDGUN CERTIFICATE OF TRAINING (FORM LTC-100) for application to the state.

S TUDENTS MAY BRING DRINKS AND SNACKS TO CLASS AS THERE IS NOT A LUNCH BREAK.

A LL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THE RANGE WAIVER BEFORE ATTENDING THE CLASS;

Do I have to know how to shoot a handgun?

YES.

Do I have to have my own handgun?

Yes it is recommended that you be familiar with your handgun and the safe operation of it prior to class.

Do I have to know how to load my magazines?

YES. We do not allow any magazines to be loaded before range time, we will all load the required number of rounds for each exercise.
