Overview

A fireside chat, discussing courage, care, and continuing the fight for breast cancer awareness.

Beyond the Pink: The Fight Doesn’t End in October

Join Harlem Commonwealth Council for an inspiring fireside chat, Beyond the Pink: The Fight Doesn’t End in October, moderated by Sharon Joseph, HCC’s CEO and breast cancer survivor.

This powerful conversation brings together Marlene Taylor, PA-C, and Andrea Henderson—two women whose experiences and expertise illuminate the realities of breast cancer prevention, treatment, and recovery. Together, they’ll share stories of strength, healing, and advocacy, exploring how the fight for awareness, equity, and whole-person care continues long after October ends.

The event will also feature a special video segment from Katie Couric’s “The Last Question” podcast, highlighting an intimate discussion between Katie Couric, Dr. Lisa Newman, and Sharon Joseph.

Guests are invited to join us for light refreshments, reflection, and community connection as we honor survivors, educate women on early detection and gene testing, and celebrate the power of sisterhood and shared healing.
