From storm water management and yoga to native plantings and beekeeping, “Experience Homefields” connects local experts to residents, shareholders, and the community, promoting wellness and sustainability through information and education.

The goal of this class is to review how to use remote acoustic recording devices to record bat vocalizations. Remote acoustic survey efforts are a cost-effective way to survey for rare bats in Pennsylvania.  We will end the talk with a bat/bird hike and use equipment to identify bat species in active flight.  Buy one ticket for you, or two to include your family. The class is limited to 12 attendees.Bats provide ecosystem services to human societies such as being indicators of ecosystem health and providing control over problem insect species. In the state of Pennsylvania, there are 7 species of bats that are of conservation concern, with 3 species listed as endangered and 2 protected under the Endangered Species Act.Dr. Aaron Haines is a Certified Wildlife Biologist and a Professor of Biology at Millersville University.
