¡A CENAAAR! An immersive Día de los Muertos dinner experience by machaa
Step into 1940s Mexico for one night only. 30 seats, music, theatre and the soul of a celebration. Bring a photo of someone you miss.
One night. One table. One house where the past comes to dinner.
There’s a house in Toronto that opens its doors just once a year.
When you knock, the host opens the door because they’ve been expecting you.
Inside, boleros fill the room. Candlelight flickers against marigolds. An altar waits for you to make it your own and honour someone who has passed, someone who will dine with us tonight.
A long table is set, and your seat is waiting.
Stories find their way to your eyes and ears. Characters live the night beside you. Music drifts through the room. And somewhere between dinner, theatre and memory, you become part of the story.
Welcome to the bohemian Mexico of the 1940s, inspired by the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, the intellectuals, surrealists and muralists of an era defined by art, imagination and exploration.
¡A Cenaaar! lives somewhere between a film and a dream.
A night to dance, remember, and celebrate the past and the present.
There is no stage. No audience. No fourth wall.
Come hungry. Bring a photo of someone you miss.
Tonight, no one dines alone.
