Join us for a community evening of remembrance and celebration, part of Overtown, STILL.
We're renewing our community altar, and we want you to be part of it. Bring a photo, a keepsake, or just a name you want to hear spoken aloud. When you arrive, you can add it to the altar and write a note to go with it.
After that, we'll gather for a community conversation led by people from Overtown. We'll start with grief, the people we miss and what we carry, and move toward celebration: what they gave us and how they're still here in the streets, the stories, and each other. Everyone is welcome to share, and everyone is welcome to just listen.
What to expect
- Arrival and altar building (6:30 PM)
- Opening moment and naming of loved ones (7:00PM)
- Community conversation on grief and celebration
- Closing gathering at the altar
- Tea, something sweet, and time to connect
What to bring: A photo, small item, or name of someone you'd like to honor (optional). Please let us know when you arrive whether you'll take your item home tonight or leave it on the altar.
This is a gentle space. Come as you are.
