Whether you're a lifelong Blerd or simply curious about the worlds of horror, science fiction, fantasy, anime, manga, comics, gaming, and speculative fiction, House of Blerds is a place to connect, discover, and celebrate together.

At Long Dark House, we believe stories have the power to bring people together. House of Blerds is the beginning of a new community dedicated to celebrating Black creativity, imagination, and fandom in all its forms.

This inaugural gathering is intentionally casual. There isn't required reading or a formal agenda—just an evening filled with conversation, new connections, and plenty of opportunities to geek out over the stories, characters, and worlds that inspire us.

Whether your passion is Octavia Butler, Jordan Peele, manga, tabletop RPGs, horror novels, Afrofuturism, Marvel, indie games, fantasy worlds, or something wonderfully niche, you'll find people who are just as excited to talk about it.

$5 per person

The registration fee simply helps us reserve space for those who plan to attend and allows us to prepare the best experience possible.

If the cost would prevent you from joining us, please don't let that stop you. Email us at team@longdarkhouse.com, and we'll happily reserve a seat for you—no questions asked.

Who Should Attend?

This event is for anyone who enjoys Black nerd culture and the communities that surround it. Whether you love books, anime, gaming, comics, cosplay, horror films, fantasy, science fiction, tabletop games, or simply meeting people with similar interests, we'd love to welcome you.

Come solo or bring a friend. Either way, you'll leave having met new people who share your love of the strange.
