Becoming Without Brutality: An AXIS Method Workshop
Reclaim your expression, honor your capacity, and create a personal plan for becoming—with practical tools for everyday life.
How do you grow without turning yourself into another thing to fight?
Perhaps you’ve become very good at meeting expectations, carrying responsibility, or adapting to what life demands. Now you’re asking what you actually want—and how to move toward it without exhausting or abandoning yourself.
Becoming Without Brutality is a two-hour experiential workshop with Dr. Sica Leigh, nationally board-certified Doctor of Acupuncture and founder of The AXIS Method™.
Through guided reflection, meditation, and practical planning, you’ll explore how to reconnect with yourself and give that connection expression in everyday life.
Four dimensions of becoming
The workshop introduces the Four Cs of AXIS:
- Calibration — Expression: Explore where the way you show up reflects who you are, and where learned expectations may be shaping your choices.
- Coherence — Body: Work with your actual capacity and discover familiar, accessible ways to care for yourself and reset.
- Contact — Inner connection: Make intentional space for reflection, spiritual meaning, and discernment. Explore what matters to you and how you want to respond to life.
- Continuity — Creation and legacy: Give your insights somewhere to go through concrete action, supportive relationships, learning, and meaningful contribution.
Throughout, you’ll consider the stories you’ve inherited about yourself—and how to examine them with honesty, choice, and care.
What you’ll do
You’ll have time to write, experiment with a brief personal reset, and participate in a guided meditation connecting a meaningful feeling with a future you want to explore.
You’ll choose an anchor for remembering your intention, identify people and resources that could support your growth, and turn one insight into an achievable next step.
What you’ll leave with
Your own Becoming Without Brutality plan, including:
- One way to express yourself more congruently.
- A brief reset using things you already find supportive.
- A personal anchor and reflection practice.
- A map of connections, resources, or learning you want to develop.
- One realistic next step—with a smaller version for difficult days.
Who this is for
This workshop welcomes people navigating change, rebuilding after disruption, reconsidering old expectations, or wanting a more intentional relationship with themselves.
Spiritual exploration is welcome, and you’re invited to use language that fits your own beliefs. No meditation experience is necessary. Personal sharing is always optional, and you may adapt or pass on any exercise.
Bring
A journal or something to write on. If you have mala beads, a bracelet, or another small object you’d like to use as an anchor, you’re welcome to bring it. Every practice can be completed without purchasing a kit.
