Movement as Medicine: Develop a Mind-Body Connection

Movement as Medicine: Develop a Mind-Body Connection

Overview

A Workshop-Style Class for Living Well in Your Body

Movement is powerful medicine. When we learn how to move with intention, awareness, and respect for our anatomy, we create space not only for pain relief, but for resilience, confidence, and a more sustainable relationship with our bodies.

Movement as Medicine is a monthly, workshop-style class designed for anyone who wants to move through daily life with more ease, awareness, and confidence in their body. This class is for people who want to understand how their body moves in gravity, reduce everyday aches and pains, and walk away with practical tools they can use at home to support their own wellbeing.

Rather than focusing on performance or aesthetics, this class emphasizes education, anatomy, and embodied awareness. Together, we’ll explore how posture, movement habits, and muscular imbalances contribute to discomfort — and how small, intentional changes can create meaningful relief. The goal is not to “fix” your body, but to help you better understand it so you can respond with clarity and care.

Each session blends gentle movement, mobility work, and self-care techniques to support joint health, muscular balance, and nervous system regulation. You’ll learn simple self-massage and muscle release practices, mobility exercises to improve range of motion, and ways to adapt traditional yoga poses so they feel supportive, accessible, and comfortable for your body. We’ll slow things down, workshop movements together, and take time to feel the difference — getting out of the head and into the body.

Class size is intentionally limited to four participants, allowing for plenty of individualized attention alongside guided group education. This creates a supportive, low-pressure environment where questions are encouraged and learning is collaborative.

EveryBODY is welcome. All experience levels are encouraged to attend — no prior yoga or movement experience is required. Mats and props are provided if you don’t have your own.
