Overview

Transform instant film into otherworldly art—lift, float, and reshape emulsion onto paper, glass, and stone. No experience needed.

Welcome to my laboratory, where I take my place as your alchemist, and we transform instant film into something otherworldly. In this hands-on workshop, I’ll guide you through lifting the delicate emulsion from black and white Polaroid film and floating it onto glowing new surfaces like watercolor paper, glass, and stone. We’ll swirl images in warm water, warp the film into ripples, and let them drape and shimmer in beautifully imperfect ways. Wrinkles, tears, accidents—they’re part of the magic. Come ready to get your hands wet, embrace a little chaos, and turn fleeting moments into treasures.

You can provide me with images I can make into polaroids or bring your own!

No experience necessary—just curiosity and creativity.

Beginner and family friendly - 12+ years!

Materials included:

  • Three black and white Polaroids
  • Watercolor paper
  • Mulberry paper
  • Stones
  • Cups, trays, paint brushes, gloves, scissors
