About this event

Whether you are a Veteran actively job searching, considering a career change, entering the civilian workforce, changing location, or otherwise focusing on the next steps in your career, the process can feel a bit lonely at times. Veterans and spouses can now take advantage of another way to network with business managers who want to be helpful and are full of practical useful input for Veterans.


Come to The Job Forum; and especially come to the customized programs created to lend a hand to Veterans.

The Job Forum offers “1-on-1 Veteran Advising” sessions. Our expert volunteer panelists who are Managers from a variety of Companies and are skilled in working to help veterans translate your excellence and value and will provide you guidance and advice for your next steps in your career and job search. You will work with an expert panelist to enhance and develop the skills and confidence you need to be successful in today’s job market. Together, you will evaluate your short- and long-term career goals.


The Job Forum offers:

30 minute “1-On-1 Veteran Advising” Sessions with a Job Forum Professional Advisor. The cost is a fee of $25 for one session and $60 if you book three sessions, (less than the average market rate.)

“1-on-1 Veterans Advising” sessions appointments can be conducted via phone or zoom.

All our expert panelists have diverse backgrounds and personalities. Each of them offers a unique approach and perspective on career exploration, which allows for different insights on career exploration.

OUR EXPERT ADVISORS:

RANDY FERINO

VP/Employee Relations & Employment Manager at Exchange Bank

Randy served in the US Navy for 5 years and moved to Northern California in 1999. He graduated from Sonoma State University in 2001 and earned his MBA from there in 2006. Randy is a Senior HR Business Partner for Exchange Bank, located in Santa Rosa, CA. He has been there since 2013 and specializes in employment related activities such as, Recruiting, Employee Relations and Employee Development. Randy has worked in the HR field for over 20 years. Randy serves on the Sonoma State University Alumni Board and the Santa Rosa City School Career Technical Education Advisory Board. In his spare time, you can find him playing softball, or playing with his two children, Harrison and Olive.


MARC GALLO

Marc is a full time Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and a retired Partner, focusing on Financial Services clients. He has spent 26 years with the firm. Marc works in the firm’s Cloud and Digital Functional & Industry Technologies practice, an incubator for scaling high potential technologies through emerging markets and alliances. He continues to drive large scale transformations and innovations for Insurance and Banking clients.

Marc has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Lewis University. Over the years, Marc has helped people develop through all phases of their career: resume preparation, job search, interviewing, mentoring, and ongoing career success. He finds this work extremely rewarding!

Marc is part of PwC’s Veteran’s Affinity Network. Our goal is to ease the transition from military life to a career at PwC. Marc also works with American Corporate Partners, a national nonprofit organization connecting Veterans with business leaders in a variety of ways beyond their corporate mentoring program.

You are also welcome and encouraged to attend the Job Forum Group sessions on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00 in order to easily add to your job search network by meeting helpful managers inside Bay Area companies who will advise you and can make referrals for you.
