Come gather among the plants and chickens at Manheim Gardens in Kansas City to enjoy performances with traditional fiddlers from Kansas and Missouri, a screening of a film about a historic youth fiddle camp in Missouri, and learn more about this important traditional art.🥘Bring a dish for the potluck and listen to the tunes of Lawrence musicians Tricia Spencer &amp; Howard Rains.🎻Then settle in for a performance with mid-Missouri fiddler John P. Williams and KC fiddler Rachel Krause. Rachel has been studying with John as part of the<a href="https://mofolkarts.missouri.edu/traditional-arts-apprenticeship-program/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Missouri Folk Arts Program’s Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program</a>.📽Once the sun sets, we will be screening the premiere of “Dance to the Fiddle,” a short documentary about a historic youth fiddle camp in Bethel, Missouri made by Rachel. The film pairs archival footage from the 80s and 90s, with footage of the camp from 2021.Potluck starts at 6:30. The event is free and open to the public. RSVPs are not required, but helpful if you&#x27;d like to receive event updates.
