The book details the historical and ongoing tension between competing views of the U.S. Constitution: a democratic view that the Constitution evolves with changes in majoritarian will, and a republican view that the Constitution protects pre-existing inalienable rights despite shifts in public sentiment.
On July 28th, Hudson Institute will host Randy Barnett, Carmack Waterhouse Professor of Legal Theory at the Georgetown University Law Center, for a discussion of his latest book and other issues. Harold Furchtgott-Roth, Director of Hudson’s Center for the Economics of the Internet, will moderate the conversation.
A book signing will follow the event. Copies of the book will be available for sale for $18.00 (cash only.)
