Zurich Art Walk What is home? About concepts of home and Sense of belonging with Pauline Brämer.

MEETING POINT: Galerie Peter Kilchmann, Zahnradstrasse

ROUTE: Galerie Peter Kilchmann → Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst → Luma Westbau

What is home? In my tour, I will enhance the dialog about the place called 'home'. I invite people to walk with me from Hardbrücke to Löwenbräu to connect different artistic positions with the proposed term and open up new perspectives on structural im/possibilities of home. We will see the paintings by Didier William at Galerie Peter Kilchmann to think further about the relationships of spaces and see the work by Ahlam Shibli at Luma Westbau, who investigates the notion of "Heimat", their loss, and social strategies to process this loss within her artistic practices. While for some people it might be interesting to answer questions about their home as rather a physical or a spiritual place, for others these questions might be not easy to answer or difficult to think about. That’s why we will focus on the visual and sensory experience with the artistic works to develop an understanding for the art as well as for notions of home and belonging.

The tour will take two hours and I will give input as well as open up the space for dialog, to reflect individually or as a group and to discuss and exchange thoughts and emotions.
