Zumba with Maria Assis

Come join us to dance on the High Line! Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata and many more. All levels are welcome.

Free and open to the public. Advance registration is encouraged. Walk-ups are welcome. The event will be canceled if it rains. The decision will be made by 5pm the day before and announced on @highlinenyc’s X feed. Registrants will receive an email if the event is canceled.

Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes to move around in.

About the instructor

Maria Assis Silva is a dance and fitness instructor. She has been teaching for 18 years. It is her passion to inspire and motivate others to have fun and feel good.


Zumba is part of our High Line Wellness programming, designed specifically with older adults in mind. Adults of any age are invited to join the High Line to learn, move, have fun, and connect with neighbors. Wellness activities, educational sessions, cultural engagements, and other events are offered on and near the park, in collaboration with local community-based organizations that serve older adults in Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, and on the West Side of Manhattan.
