Zine Making Workshop
A hands-on zine workshop: collaborate, create your own, and explore ideas together. No experience needed.
What’s a zine?
A zine is a small, self-made publication—raw, personal, and completely open to interpretation.
In this workshop, we’ll explore zine-making together through both collaboration and individual creation.
We’ll begin with a short icebreaker and group conversation to shape a shared theme. From there, participants will contribute to a collective zine, capturing a mood, idea, or feeling we build together.
You’ll also create your own personal zine using provided materials—completely yours, with no rules.
What you’ll do:
- Explore what a zine is and how it can be used as a creative tool
- Collaborate on a group zine
- Create your own personal zine
- Experiment with storytelling, visuals, and layout
What you’ll leave with:
- 1 personal zine
- A copy or documentation of the collective zine
- A new approach to expressing ideas through print
Who it’s for:
No experience needed. Open to anyone curious about making, storytelling, or exploring ideas in a physical format.
What to bring:
Just yourself. All basic materials will be provided.
Accessibility:
if you have any mobility needs or access requirements, feel free to contact info@macelstudios.ca in advance—we’re happy to help accommodate where possible.
