ZERO EMISSIONS EVENTURE: 
A community celebration of electrified transport in Canberra.

The Zero Emissions EVenture is a “community celebration of electrified transport” in Canberra. Participants, either as individuals or in teams of up to 4 people, will traverse a course using only electric powered transport or walking. Multiple modes of electrified transport will be employed, including cars, bus, light rail, scooters, and GoBoats. The event will encourage the Canberra community to explore the importance of electrified travel in driving down greenhouse emissions, and other emissions which impact public health. Along the route participants will complete some simple quiz questions, discovering more about zero emission electric transport options.Commencing at 09.00am, entrants will depart every 15 minutes in groups of 8. The course will take around 2 hours. Starting at the National Library, the course winds through the Parliamentary Triangle, Civic and Lyneham, and finishes back at the National Library. Teams that reach the finish will have an opportunity to enjoy some refreshments and to share experiences with other entrants.We encourage teams to dress up, wear team colours, have fun and enjoy the day! What to Bring* bike helmet optional (for scooters/e-bikes)* water, snacks* hat, sunscreen, gloves, rain jacket* your smart phone, with QR reader capability* Face masks should be worn while travelling in private vehicles, the electric bus, and the Light Rail. Hand sanitiser will be provided at checkpoints.This event is organised and run by the ACT Branch of the Australian Electric Vehicles Association (AEVA) and is proudly sponsored by the ACT Government (through a Community Zero Emissions Grant), Neuron Mobility, Yutong Electric Buses, Transport Canberra, and Canberra Metro Operations. Registration for this event comes with the following conditions:* Entrants aged 18 or over are encouraged to ride an e-scooter on the first leg of the event, from the National Library to the Kingston wharf. Entrants aged under 18 may bring their own bike or scooter, which should be labelled with the name and phone number of the owner. Elderly entrants and those with disabilities have the option of travelling this leg in a courtesy electric car.* All team members must travel via GoBoat on the second leg of the event, and must sign the<a href="https://waiver.goboat.com.au/waiver/canberra/?ref=60f4a3d317d6382f860e8a5d" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> GoBoat waiver </a>* All team members must agree to the AEVA event indemnity* All entrants travelling by e-scooter on the first leg must download and use the Neuron Mobility Scooters app (scooters will be free to use for the event) * Participants are to obey traffic laws, keep the left on footpaths and cycleways, travel in designated bike lanes and respect members of the public at all times. * Participants under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
