<h1>What:</h1><h3>Be part of the CODEX movement to celebrate nature, grow trees, and take part in carbon-free actions worldwide by joining us on this family-friendly, critical-mass-style ride through Downtown Victoria.</h3><h3><em><strong>Support </strong></em><em>an Old Growth harvest moratorium, and learn about how </em><em><strong>CODEX</strong></em>: <em>a Carbon-Negative Carbon Offset Decentralized Exchange can help us solve the climate crisis with</em> <em><strong>#NFTrees</strong></em>.</h3><h1></h1><h1>Itinerary: </h1><ol><li> Friday @ 4PM: Meet in front of the Victoria Legislature at 4PM. Sign up with QR code, form teams (or roll solo), and get acquainted with our platform.</li><li> Friday @ 5:15PM: Bike around downtown Victoria and hunt for $CODEX QR codes</li></ol><p>Start a weekend of rides  with a critical-mass-style ride around Victoria’s inner harbour. This easy-paced, community ride will gather on Friday at 4PM at the Victoria Legislature for a 5:15PM leisurely exploration of Victoria&#x27;s Downtown core and a scavenger hunt to find CODEX QR codes. </p><p>Learn more about the impetus for $CODEX and how it works from our founder and CEO, Alex Wick. A master forester and cyclist with wildland fire experience, and over a decade of forest inventory experience, he has lived a low-carbon lifestyle for over a decade. </p><h3></h3><h3>Sponsored by Cascadia Carbon, in conjunction with TreeCanada, BC Forestry Workers Coop, and YVRFixed.</h3><h1></h1><h1>Other rides: </h1><h3><em><strong></strong></em></h3><h3><em><strong>Sooke Ride</strong></em>:</h3><p>(Register separately - see below)</p><p>Meet up again on Saturday at 8 AM to take off to Sooke via Victoria’s galloping goose trail. We hope to have 20 people make it to Sooke, and hundreds more around the world following along in solidarity via our <a href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/codex/id1460529709" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a><a href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/codex/id1460529709" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">app</a>. Head home after scanning your &quot;check out&quot; QR code to verify your bicycle participation.</p><h3><em><strong></strong></em></h3><h3><em><strong>Fairy Creek Ride</strong></em>:</h3><p>(Register separately - see below)</p><p>For avid cyclists, ride all the way to Fairy Creek HQ, where peaceful forest defenders and Indigenous tribal leaders have established a base of operations for their 11 month long, peaceful, decentralized, Old Growth logging protest. </p><p>Find out more about their fight to preserve this unique ecosystem, and why it affects all of us in: <a href="https://thenarwhal.ca/topics/fairy-creek-blockade/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><strong><em>The Narwhal</em></strong></a><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p>This bicycle ride will  take you along the beautiful Pacific Ocean, through ancient and second growth forests, and will provide beautiful views, a peaceful 111 km (65 mi) cycling experience, and wonder and excitement for youngsters and elders alike! </p><p><em>Don&#x27;t worry if you can&#x27;t make it the whole way, though you won&#x27;t get to experience the Old Growth grove...stop in Sooke, BC for the night, Jordan River for an afternoon on the beach, or camp at Potholes provincial park overnight (reserve in advance).</em> Highly recommended (and over 3/4 of the way to the old growth) is Botanical Beach, one of the most amazing places on the entire West Coast, with tide pools filled like jewel boxes with brightly coloured marine animals.</p><p>Once at the forest, participate in &quot;forest bathing&quot; at Avatar grove, guided hikes, direct action, camp assistance, and community-based mutual aid to your comfort level, or just bike out and back (&lt;240km, doable in a day for experienced cyclists/roadies) <strong>making sure to scan at least four (4) QR Codes along the route  to receive your $CODEX carbon neutral tokens. </strong></p><p>Stay in Port Renfrew Saturday night and cycle out to Avatar Grove and Fairy Creek HQ Sunday morning at sunrise, or cycle at your own pace and camp in the Coastal Rainforest, home to these amazing 1500+ year old giants. <strong>Be sure to snag four (4) QR Codes to complete your ride and redeem your $CODEX cryptocurrency.</strong></p><p>Options to stop in the Town of Sooke for food and drink, Jordan River for surfing,  Shirley for baked goods, and of course gorgeously rugged beaches at every turn in between.
