ABOUT STEVE

Steve Hartline has been known as the voice of Mix 104.1 WCLE for over 20 years, but he’s been with Mix 104.1 WCLE for most of his life.

Since his senior year of high school, Steve has been with Mix 104.1 WCLE. Throughout his collegiate years, Steve majored in Telecommunications at Lee University and continued at Mix 104.1 WCLE as a sports announcer for the Lee University and Cleveland State basketball teams.

Upon graduation, Steve started full-time at Mix 104.1 WCLE. In 2003, he began hosting the Mix Mornings Show as well as announcing Walker Valley Football games. Hartline has now been broadcasting high school football & basketball for over 25 years on Mix 104.1 radio, as well as the station’s streaming TV Channel, Mix TV.

In 2008, Steve along with his wife, Jennifer, purchased Mix 104.1 WCLE and have remained owners since. After becoming owners of Mix 104.1 WCLE, the station quickly began growing its presence and impact in the area. In addition to relocating to a new facility to accommodate the growth, Steve added a talk station (101.3 The Buzz), an old school throwback music station (Cleveland’s Oldies 99.1) and a streaming television channel (MixTV). As of June of 2024, Hartline transitioned Talk 101.3 The Buzz to ESPN Cleveland 101.3.

Steve’s accolades are many and include a Hall of Fame recognition from Cleveland High School in 2014, and School of Communications Alumnus of the Year from Lee University. He is also the recipient of the Communicator of the Year Award from the Cleveland Media Association. The Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce awarded Steve their award in 2020, the Mel Bedwell Small Businessperson of the Year Award, as well as the Robert Varnell Leadership Award in 2024. Most recently, Steve was awarded the TSSAA Contributor of the Year in November of 2024.

Steve and Jennifer have two children, Reagan and Holden.
