Youth Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is directed towards identifying the signs and symptoms of mental illness in adolescents. Adolescence and early adulthood are developmental stages that are associated with greater risk of the onset of mental illness.

This course is valued at $170. Thanks to a generous grant from SAMSHA, community members' tickets will be paid for; learners may attend at no charge.

Please click "buy a ticket" to reserve your spot. A couple of weeks before the training, you will be emailed information about your next steps.

Please note: Along with attending the course on June 21st, you will be sent a pre and post survey as well as roughly 2 hours of pre-work. The 2 hours of pre-work must be completed before you are able to attend the course.
